Seyed Sadegh Haghighat graduated in political thought from TM University in Tehran, and studied at Islamic Seminaries between 1981 and 2004. His M.A. thesis on Trans-national Responsibilities of the Islamic State, and his Ph.D. dissertation on Distribution of Power in Shiite Political Thought are focused on Shiite jurisprudence. His research interests embrace Islamic political thought, methodology in political science, Iranian Revolution and political Islam. He has published more than 12 books, some of them are translated in English and Arabic. From 2006 to 2008 he was the head of Dep. of political science at Mofid Univ. in Qom
